SUSTAINABILITY

DESIGN

We are committed into making timeless classic pieces with the utmost attention to details. We will not be bringing out big collections every few months. In the design process we follow a seasonless and timeless approach. We believe that at the end the most sustainable clothes are those that get worn again and again, for decades to come. A design principle important to us is to make the clothes as adjustable as possible - you will choose these pieces even on that-time-of-the-month when feeling bloated, and they will stay in your wardrobe even when going through a slight weight gain or loss. Our first design the Mini Wrap Dress is a great example of this; you adjust it to fit personal needs, being able to get a snatched waist.

SIZING

Adjustable sizing is the key to a more circular fashion economy. The possible changes that can happen in bodies are often neglected in the conversations about sustainability. Our Mini Wrap Dress comes in 2 sizes - XS/S and M/L, because one size fits many. The dress is designed to be adjustable - adjustments can be made any time thanks to the wrap-around feature in the waist. We are looking forward on being able to provide a bigger size scale than XS-L, but as a small company we need to start somewhere.
''In the design process I keep in mind the way a woman's body can change in different phases of menstrual cycle, after a big dinner, or in the case of fluctuating weight. My mission is for women to feel comfortable, amazing and beautiful in our designs, and this won't be possible if the clothes are pressing in an uncomfortable way. Our pieces are designed to follow women through different phases and changes as far as possible without having to compromise on the amazing fit. And, of course one-size can't always fit all - it is just the reality, but I definitely want to continue the development in adjustable sizing and finding out new ways to make it possible.'' - Kiira, Founder of Kiira Moon

PRODUCTION

We work with carefully selected partners, sharing same values on quality and sustainability. Kiira Moon silk is manufactured in Northern Italy, in the province of Como - the company has a strong focus on sustainability, and work towards environmental issues started already at a time when sustainability topics were far from being dealt with. The fabrics enjoy the highest sustainability certifications. Since 2017 a Sustainability Report has been published, showcasing the strong commitment to sustainable development. The other half of our production happens in a Ready-to-Wear Atelier in Estonia where every piece of clothing is handcrafted with high level expertise and attention to details. The company has 16 employees. Our production strives for as low environmental impact as possible and is socially responsible. We follow recycling programs and put extra attention into making sure to really minimize any material waste that could happen as a byproduct - for example, every small piece of excess silk created in the cutting process are carefully collected for later use.

STOCK

We order a very limited stock every time - enabling not to hold on to any excess stock for longer times, or try to sell products with huge discounts just to get rid of them. Soon, we will also be implementing a pre-order possibility to further ensure that we are ordering the right amount of products.

MADE IN EUROPE

Our production and actions are 100% based in Europe - in Italy, Estonia and Finland. This helps us with strict quality control in any cooperation and being able to for example minimize any unnecessary shipping of goods around the world. Working towards longterm partnerships guarantees transparency and reliability.

FABRIC

We use bespoke Made in Italy 100% Silk in our Ready-to-Wear. Silk is a natural fiber and often considered more sustainable than most fabrics. Silk is biodegradable and contains natural protein and antioxidants that benefit skin health. It is a uniquely strong and durable material. Find out more about the amazing properties of silk here.
